Open Call CLOSED!

The Retune Festival is a biannual event at the intersection of Art, Design and Technology. In 2018 the Retune Festival will take place on September 27–28 with a 2-day event: one conference day and one day full of satellite events.

We encourage our community to submit proposals such as hands-on workshops, open studios for the satellite programme and talks, discussions, performances for the conference day. Learn more about what we're looking for below and apply through the form provided at the bottom of the page. If you have questions, get in touch: ✏️ opencall/ät/retune.de.

Deadline for applications is June 5th 2018.

Conference Day / Sep 27th

The first day of this year's Festival is our conference day with talks on stage, discussion and panels. It will take place at Silent Green, former crematorium and now beautiful event space in Berlin-Wedding.

  • We are looking for talks, short lightning talks, performances, discussions and panels for Retune's conference day on Sep 27h.
  • Artists, researcher, technologists, coders, musicians or everyone else whose practice is linked to art, design and technology can apply. We are looking for creative pioneers!
  • Ideally provide us with sketches, photos or moodboards, so we can better understand your submission.
  • The festival language is English, so your proposal should be too.
  • Diversity is important for us. Women, persons of color, LGBTQ+ as well as other under-represented communities in the tech field are highly encouraged to apply!
  • There is no age restriction.
  • Of course the selected artists/studios will receive 1x Retune Festival Pass and lots of ❤️!

Satellite Programme / Sep 28th

On the second day, we take the Festival into the city. Satellites in Art and Design Studios all over town will invite for workshops, open-studios and exhibitions.

  • We are looking for artists and studios, that have a space and want to become part of Retune's satellite programme on Sep 28th 2018.
  • If you cannot make it on Sep 28th or want to contribute a multi-day programme, then let us know - and we will try to include it on one of the other days before the festival.
  • You or your studio should apply with a programme: workshop, performance, discussion, installation or open studio – it’s up to you!
  • We prefer workshops and interactive hands-on formats that foster exchange and transfer of skills.
  • You can submit as an individual, collective or organisation whose practice is linked to art, design and technology.
  • Your space should be located in Berlin or Potsdam and accessible by public transportation. You need to provide space for at least 10-20 participants.
  • The festival language is English, so your proposal should be too.
  • Diversity is important for us. Women, persons of color, LGBTQ+ as well as other under-represented communities in the tech field are highly encouraged to apply!
  • There is no age restriction.
  • The selected artists/studios will receive 1x Retune Festival Pass and lots of ❤️! (Keep in mind that Retune is an independent community-driven festival and we can't be too generous with free tickets.)
